Clarkson family has first baby born at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in 2018
January 04, 2018
Leitchfield, Ky. – Rachael and Kevin Pierce of Clarkson are the proud parents of the first baby born at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in 2018. Ridgley Hannah Pierce entered the world at 6:31 a.m. on Monday, January 1. The baby girl was delivered by Dr. Sam Buck and her pediatrician is Dr. Anthony Smith.
In addition to her parents, Ridgley was welcomed by big brother Atticus, sisters Annie and Raelyn, grandparents Eddie and Linda Portman, and grandparents Roger and Mary Pierce. Kevin Pierce joked that their extended family has had a baby born on a December 31 and another on a January 2 but that they got it right with Ridgley.
TLRMC has been averaging just under 400 births for the past several years. According to Bonnie Embrey, RNC, BSN, Nursing Director for Obstetrics, the busy OB nursing staff made an extra effort preparing to celebrate the first baby of the year. “They put in a lot of time asking for and gathering the gifts then getting them ready. The families who have babies born at TLRMC already know how much the staff cares about every baby born here. This is one example of them going above and beyond what they already do for every one of our ‘families’”.
Embrey also wants to thank and recognize the people and businesses who donated gifts to the new mom and baby in honor of being the first delivery of the New Year. Among the donors were the Grayson County Health Department, the Sew Bee Quilt Guild, McDonald’s, Enfamil, Stephanie Geary, Bluegrass Check Advance, T-shirt Express, and the TLRMC Gift Shop.
